DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will engage in tasks associated with the collection and analysis of pavement data, subsequently reporting findings to the Pavement Evaluation Testing (PET) Analysis Section. You will also contribute to the upkeep of the Roadway Management System (RMS) and assist technicians in conducting tests, including operating testing vehicles for the specialized functions of the statewide Pavement Evaluation and Testing Programs and Location Reference System (LRS) Programs, all in alignment with management goals and PennDOT policies. Furthermore, the role involves providing support to other technicians and management staff in initiatives and responsibilities related to the Roadway Inventory & Testing Unit, focusing on pavement evaluation and testing.

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
- Alternatework hours for weeks of travel, are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Wednesday, and 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Extensive overnight travel will be required
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Technical Assistant. or
- One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent. or
- An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program. or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position requires possession of a valid Class C driver's license which is not under suspension.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
