The Department of Community and Economic Development is seeking an individual to serve as an Executive Assistant to the Secretary where you will be performing a wide range of activities to ensure department wide program goals and objectives are achieved. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Executive Assistant, you will have the opportunity to travel across the Commonwealth with the Secretary to attend meetings, events, and press conferences. You will be responsible for deep awareness of the Secretary's calendar, ensuring meeting materials are organized and prepared well in advance for review. Work includes preparing reports, presentations and written correspondence on behalf of or for the use of the Secretary; maintaining and refining internal processes that support high-ranking executives agency wide; coordinating communication with employees by liaising with internal and external executives on various projects and tasks; as well as planning and orchestrating work to ensure that senior executives' priorities are met, organizational goals are achieved, and best practices are upheld. Additional responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Researching and compiling data for the Secretary on sensitive and confidential issues associated with initiatives underway or for the creation of new programs
- Representing the Secretary at meetings, conferences, and public forums to articulate agency policy and program objectives
- Performing public speaking assignments to provide information on special initiatives and accomplishments
- Providing assistance to the Executive Deputy Secretary and Deputy Secretaries as may be requested

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six years of professional experience in administrative management or staff work, three of which must have been in a large public agency; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university supplemented by graduate work in public administration to the level of a Master's Degree; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must possess four years of public speaking experience.
- You must possess two years of experience reading, interpreting, analyzing information and preparing written briefs.
- You must be willing to travel and drive in adverse weather conditions.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
