DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Plumber 1 working at a state mental facility, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks such as installing, renovating, and maintaining plumbing fixtures, heating equipment, drainage systems, and related equipment and piping for these systems. You will need to use your independent judgement to determine the best materials and methods for each job, and regularly inspect all plumbing and heating equipment using proper procedures. In addition, you will be expected to perform necessary maintenance and repairs on a schedule, as well as keep detailed records and report any issues or concerns to your supervisor.

- Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week)
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Overtime as operationally necessary
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing components and fixtures; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
