Research Program Coordinator

We are seeking a Research Program Coordinator whose duties and responsibilities are related to research in the MR Division of the Department of Radiology. The incumbent must display professionalism, communicate effectively to others and function as a team member. For patient recruitment tasks, the Research Program Coordinator will function under the direction and guidance of the PI or other senior staff. The Research Program Coordinator must be competent and provide a safe, clean, orderly and comfortable environment for the Radiology research patient.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Integrate the day-to-day activities with other members of the research team to carry out the study.
  • Screen the medical records of individuals who have agreed to be contacted for research through the Johns Hopkins electronic medical records.
  • Contact participants to conduct telephone screening to determine eligibility for enrollment.
  • Coordinate scheduling of participants with senior staff.
  • Coordinate car service for the subjects, when applicable.
  • Submit required paperwork so that laboratory tests and other research procedures related to the protocol can be completed, as scheduled.
  • Administer detailed cognitive and a brief neurological assessment in person.
  • Complete scoring of cognitive, neurologic, and psychiatric assessments according to standard protocols.
  • Assist subjects to exam room and prepares subjects for examination and/or research procedures. Prepares the examination or treatment areas before, during and after patient use.
  • Complete clinical summaries and neuropsychological summaries for each participant based on standard procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date documentation on all subjects.
  • Enter data in electronic database and checks data entry for accuracy.
  • Ability to anticipate daily changes in schedule, maintaining a smooth patient flow.
  • Follow up with the participants for any adverse events.
  • Develop protocols for study, working with PI and other senior staff.
  • Provide background and does other research to educate on subject matter.
  • Recommendschanges to protocol operations to get to end goal.
  • Serve as department liaison with collaborators and multiple research laboratories both in-house and third-party.
  • Use universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from bio hazardous materials.
  • Operate equipment, e.g. computer, as directed by the PI or other senior staff.
  • Recognize emergency situations, implements emergency procedures according to clinic guidelines.
  • Document task performed accurately.
  • Obtain and provide health information for research subject use as requested by the PI or other senior staff.
  • Participate in skill development and training through in-service programs to enhance knowledge level and to ensure mastery of patient care procedures.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $30.30 HRLY ($45,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
