Job Summary:

The Manager of Education and Compliance Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for supporting and coordinating education and staff compliance activities throughout the University Colorado School of Medicine (CUSOM) clinics. This position assists with event reviews and education management activities; promoting the maintenance of employee competencies and safety. The Manager of Education and Compliance is responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of education programs and professional development of ambulatory staff - focused on top-of-scope tasks, clinical outcomes, best practices, workflow optimizations, and staff/practice development. The RN will lead the educator team in collaboration with Community Practice Leadership and staff to support, promote, design, and implement improvements and innovations. To achieve defined outcomes, the RN will drive commitment to just culture, disseminate information, and provide support for the clinical nurse educators. They will assist with departmental/clinic compliance and must maintain a working knowledge of University of Colorado (CU) policies and procedures, applicable regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards. The Manager of Education & Compliance will aim to reduce fragmentation through best practice education and skill competencies to ensure that all ambulatory services are of the highest quality and implemented throughout the CU Community Practice clinics and are accountable for upholding a culture of compliance, ethics, and integrity. Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates onboarding of new employees including socializing and integrating an employee into the organization with a focus on retention and growth.
- Ensures that processes are in place for documentation of orientation and other educational activities; ensures employee files meet CU Community Practice and all regulatory requirements.
- Assists in the clinical placement, mentorship, and supervision of students (MAs, PCTs, and other clinical roles), ensuring alignment with academic objectives and clinical standards.
- Assists in the development of programs and processes that meet regulatory requirements, and champions case reviews.
- Assists in the development and management of initiatives for patient care and staff performance.
- Assists in leading safety efforts and develops and drives performance improvement activities that are cost-effective and efficient.
- Models evidence-based practice and participates in the development and review of policies, protocols, and procedures.

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 4 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program.
- Five (5) years nursing experience.
- Three (3) years of ambulatory clinic experience.
- Active RN license in the State of Colorado or Compact State License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or Healthcare Administration
- Certification or eligibility for healthcare quality, ambulatory nursing, and/or infection prevention.
- Ambulatory Nursing Board Certification (AMB-BC) or alternate certification in applicable specialty.
- Expertise in database operations, including EMR (Epic) experience.
- Previous patient safety or 2 years relevant experience.
- Public speaking or clinical education experience with adults and/or healthcare workers.
- Experience with HealthStream.
- Experience with RL Safety Reporting.
- Experience with research and evidence-based platforms.
Conditions of Employment:
- Since this position requires traveling to all clinic locations (some without easy access to public transportation), a valid driver's license is required.
- Must be able to perform the clinical and/or technical competencies on which education is provided.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of physician office practice operations.
- Strong and broad understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements in ambulatory clinical settings.
- Strong project management & problem-solving skillsets.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $79,884 to $101,562. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
