Job Description

Supports the administrative functions of the Peaslee Steel Manufacturing Research Center by:

  • Managing day-to-day operations of the Peaslee Steel Manufacturing Research Center
  • Handles all purchasing of items for PSMRC and associated grant programs, including equipment purchases
  • Assists PSMRC students and faculty with shipping and reconciles incoming received shipments
  • Monitors PSMRC and other grant accounts for incorrect charges and works with administration to make appropriate changes as needed
  • Serves as the main liaison for the PSMRC industry membership (handling inquiries, sending meeting notices, etc.); Makes arrangements for the PSMRC semi-annual meeting; Prepares all materials needed for meeting (presentation notebooks, name badges, etc); Makes arrangements for meals, reserves meeting facilities, etc.
  • Submits travel approvals and prepares travel reimbursements for students and faculty using PSMRC or associated grant funding
  • Handles hiring of graduate and undergraduate students involved in the PSMRC projects; Approves timesheets for undergraduates
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in purchasing, calling vendors, making travel arrangements and reconciling financial accounts

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.00-$19.92 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
