Position Summary

This position requires full understanding of and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center. The employee shall support Saddleback Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.

The Foundation Donor Engagement Coordinator is an energetic, organized, professional and self-motivated individual who works closely with the Foundation Event Director to plan and execute events. This role requires the ability to work well on several projects concurrently, and possess excellent communication, organizational and creative thinking skills. Demonstrated high energy level and flexibility, pleasant persona coupled with sound judgment; flexible, discreet, and able to maintain confidential information, knowledge of correct protocol for specific situations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  • Assists Event Director with planning yearly Foundation events including scheduling meetings, maintaining timelines, set-up, assembly, operations and breakdown of events and all related correspondence.
  • Helps to coordinate logistics such as venue selection, catering, audio-visual, and transportation.
  • Provides onsite assistance and support during events, ensuring smooth operations, addressing any issues that arise, and ensuring a positive experience for attendees.
  • Manages guest lists and assist with registration needs.
  • Helps to cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors, sponsors, and partners to secure in-kind donations.
  • Manages in-kind donations for auctions, documents items and donor contact information, and coordinates fulfilment after event.
  • Utilizes donor/financial database for event, membership and other data tracking and reporting and vendor payments.
  • Assists with event budgets, ensuring that expenses are within budgetary constraints and maximizes resources for impact.
  • Collaborate with Foundation team, event committees and the communications staff to develop promotional materials, and assist with leveraging various channels to increase event attendance and engagement.
  • Recruit, train and oversee volunteers to assist with event setup, execution, and teardown.
  • Undertakes ad hoc projects, when required to assist management in maximizing resources.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:



  • Experience in planning events of all varieties, such as gala dinners, golf tournaments, and numerous cultivation events required.
  • Project management, organizational and prioritizing skills; problem solving and ownership of project; ability to multitask; attention to detail is imperative.
  • Knowledge and experience in Raiser's Edge or similar database required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)


Education/Licensure/Certification:



  • Bachelor's degree preferred
