The Operating Room at Maine Medical Center - Portland is seeking a Nursing Unit Secretary to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of medical terminology and 1 year of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.

The Operating Room at Maine Medical Center - Portland is a Level 1 trauma center with 29 Operating Rooms. We offer a fast-paced, exciting team environment, with multiple surgical specialties such as cardiac, thoracic, vascular, orthopedics/trauma/total joints, neurosurgery, ENT, general, trauma, GYN, GU, and pediatrics

Summary:

The Nursing Unit Secretary role performs clerical, receptionist, and transporter duties.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Current BLS certification preferred or may be required based on location.
  • Experience: One year of hospital or health care setting preferred.
