Job Posting: Security and Compliance Architect Job Summary We are seeking a seasoned Security and Compliance Architect to lead and drive data security initiatives across our enterprise environment. This role requires architect-level expertise in data security and compliance, with a strong focus on Microsoft Purview or similar data governance tools. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in establishing a comprehensive data classification and tagging framework, implementing data loss prevention (DLP) solutions, and building enterprise-wide security practices. Key Responsibilities
- Data Classification and Governance:Lead the design and development of a robust data classification process, utilizing tools like Microsoft Purview to assess and categorize data across various environments.
- Data Security Strategy:Develop and implement data security and compliance strategies that encompass data tagging, DLP, and data governance.
- Solution Implementation:Create and execute a phased plan to roll out an enterprise-wide data classification, tagging, and DLP solution across M365, Azure, and on-premises systems.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:Work closely with business, IT, and security teams to define requirements, ensure alignment on security goals, and implement processes that support data governance and compliance.
- Compliance Expertise:Stay current with regulatory and compliance requirements, including NIST, CMMC, ITAR, and DFARS, and apply them within the organization's data governance strategies.
- Project Leadership:Act as the security lead on data governance projects, overseeing project phases from initial assessment to solution deployment.
Required Qualifications
- Architect-Level Expertise:8+ years of experience in data security and compliance, with a focus on data governance and data protection frameworks.
- Technical Skills:Deep knowledge of Microsoft Purview or similar data governance and security tools, with experience in data classification, tagging, and DLP implementation.
- Cloud Security Expertise:Strong understanding of M365 and Azure security, along with experience implementing security controls in hybrid cloud/on-prem environments.
- Regulatory Knowledge:Proven experience working within regulated industries and a solid understanding of data security compliance frameworks, including NIST, CMMC, ITAR, and DFARS.
- Communication Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Project Management:Demonstrated experience leading large-scale security projects, managing timelines, and delivering results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Azure Security Engineer, or Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals.
- Industry Experience:Experience in regulated environments such as defense, government, or financial services.
