Title: Safety Technician Intermediate
Duration: 3 Months (Possibility of Temp to Hire)

Job Desciprion:
As the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Coordinator, you'll join a team of multi-discipline technical experts, ensuring that our clients can deliver their products and services - uninterrupted. You'll be responsible for a variety of tasks that are related to and critical to the environmental and safety operation of the site. You'll contribute to the success of our program with effective solutions to complex challenges that may arise in our client's facilities. ?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Environmental Professional with tracking data for environmental reports and filing data on a timely basis
- Create, update, and send out the weekly Safety Training PowerPoints
- Support new hire orientation and coordinate training for new hires
- Track safety metrics and goals and send out weekly statistics and reminders
- Track safety & other training, ensuring that all employees are current with their training and send out reminders accordingly
- May assist with tracking PTP/AHA submittals and reporting data to O&M Supervisor & EH&S Champion for Monthly Safety Meeting.
- May assist with reviewing, modifying, and approving site AHAs.
- Assist with reviewing, reconciling invoices and submitting them for processing
- Create permits for various items
- Attends and/or conducts meetings and training sessions
- Send out weekly Human Resources notifications
- Monitor Occupant services email
- Draft and send out various announcements and communications to Occupants
- Help plan and execute special events
- Assist with special projects for the environmental and safety department
- Add new suppliers to the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Track and update the teams off site and PTO calendar
- Track suppliers and contractors with ARIBA and SAFETY qualifications
- Follows oral and written instructions.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during work.
- Performs other duties as required by the Supervisor
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Five years' experience in an environmental role
- Exposure or experience in facilities or industrial safety
- Demonstrated ability to use computers and computer software including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint and to enter data into computerized management systems to compose and complete computer reports.
- Proven background with inter and external office communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- OSHA 10 and / or 30-hour certification
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- The work area can involve a working environment indoors as well as outdoors, which could cause exposure to outdoor elements; proper environmental attire will be required.
- Some areas can have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, pathogens, and various chemicals.
- The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
- Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, twist, and bend at the waist, turn, kneel, squat, raise arms above shoulder height, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements and fine coordination to work in various field conditions; have hearing in the normal range with or without correction.
- In an 8-hour shift must be able to transport self across the facility, ascend and descend stair steps, lift objects up to 50 pounds from floor level to waist height, climb and work off a ladder or scaffold and climb into and out of vehicles having high ground clearance; carry a 50-pound toolbox up a flight of stairs and use appropriate safety equipment.
