While experience and certification in CT is preferred, we welcome ARRT registered Xray techs who are interested in training for CT. CT certification must be obtained within one year.

SIGN-ON BONUS & RELOCATION:

An employment bonus ranging between $3,600 and $9,000 (subject to applicable taxes, paid out in three payments) is available for this part-time position! Bonus amount varies based on experience and certifications. Apply today and our recruiter can share more with you.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiologic procedures on patients as ordered by licensed providers in an ethical and professional manner according to hospital and departmental policy and according to any applicable New York State guidelines. Must assist in all aspects of the Radiology Department operations.

The CAT Scan Technologist produces computerized tomographic images of designated anatomical areas as ordered/directed by a Radiologist, according to established protocols and procedures. Also responsible for performing and maintaining quality assurance on equipment, policies and procedures pertaining to CT scan. Responsible for education of staff/students in Cat Scan field.

Key responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, operating and maintaining equipment, properly positioning patients, monitoring and ensuring patient safety, reviewing images, collaborating with medical staff and updating patient records.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

High School degree required.

Two-year accredited Radiologic Technology Program.

Must be licensed by the New York State Department of Health.

Must be registered by ARRT Radiographer (R), CT experience and certification preferred.

Must be CT certified within one (1) year of accepting CT employment. One (1) month orientation to the department.

Specialized knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy preferred.

Background in computers helpful.

Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner.

Requires positive and effective communicating skills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation.

Requires an ability to think and act quickly in order to deliver efficient quality care in a variety of stressful situations.

Must be BLS certified (or obtained within 3 months).

As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.

SCHEDULE:

Twenty-four (24) hours per week are guaranteed for this position. This position is used primarily to cover team members' paid time off; therefore, shifts are variable.

Standards shifts can be 8-, 10- or 12-hour shifts.

A monthly schedule is posted 2 weeks in advance.

Call can be an option for CT holiday coverage.

Can be required to work two (2) weekends out of four (4) weekends.

In a typical shift, you'll be performing portables, and serving our inpatient, outpatient, ED, and OR patients.
