General Responsibilities |
The Division of Health, Science, and Technology at Howard Community College (
HCC) is seeking applicants for a temporary full-time faculty position (5 month) in the discipline of chemistry. The faculty member will be expected to teach courses in introductory inorganic chemistry lecture and lab, with a focus on courses required for students in Allied Health disciplines. The candidate must be team-oriented and be able to coordinate with other division faculty. |

Essential requirements:
Minimum of a master's degree in chemistry or related field
A minimum of two years of high school or college teaching experience in Chemistry
Experience operating chemistry laboratory equipment
Demonstrated record of teaching excellence
Ability to teach using a variety of approaches
Effective interpersonal skills
Preferred requirements:
Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field
Experience teaching chemistry at a community college
Experience in curriculum development
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Rank and salary will be determined upon hire.

HCC offers two retirement options: The Pension, which requires a 7% employee contribution and The
ORP, a 403(b) with a 7.25% employer contribution only. Employees in positions that do not require a bachelor's degree must participate in The Pension. Employees that possess a bachelor's degree and hold professional positions that require a bachelor's degree may choose to participate in either The Pension or The
ORP. |
