Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Lead to be based out of Pendleton, OR plant. Reporting to Maintenance Manager, this person will be responsible for evaluating, prioritize, and delegate tasks throughout the facility, while promoting safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship. This position requires strong leadership skills, mechanical aptitude, and an understanding of systems throughout the plant site.

What you'll do:



  • Inspects, repairs, and performs electric and mechanical overhauls on all equipment such as VFDs, open and closed feedback servo loops, servo motors, pneumatic and hydraulic components, motor control center devices, conveyor systems, and packaging and processing equipment.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe, controlled manner, following all safety rules and best practices. Assist the Maintenance Manager when requested.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization. Conduct morning evaluation and walk-through to identify areas needing attention.
  • Delegate work and audit jobs to ensure employees are on-task, following safety guidelines, and making efficient progress.
  • Respond with urgency to upset conditions such as uncontained discharge, power failure, and breakdown of key equipment.
  • Be a leading example of troubleshooting skills and making effective repairs by identifying root causes of problems and not just treating symptoms.
  • Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Communicate with all departments to ensure maintenance needs are met.


What you'll bring:



  • Preferred 2 years of extrusion experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Must wear proper PPE (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toe shoes, gloves, high visibility vest)
  • Availability to work Overtime and available to support the Call-in teams.
  • Required to focus on reading/evaluating documents and is expected to have great attention to detail.


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
  • Gain an understanding of your team.
  • Gain an understanding of the training materials and procedures your team owns.


Within 6-months, you'll:



  • Full ownership and accountability for execution of preventive maintenance plan.
  • Drive corrective maintenance and track maintenance KPIs.
  • Full use of the CMMS
  • Fully understand areas of opportunity to improve our maintenance system and KPIs.
  • Create cross-training and development plan for your team members.


Within 12-months, you'll:



  • Implement sustainable processes to improve our maintenance system.
  • Demonstrate improved maintenance KPIs and equipment availability and reliability.
  • Drive Atkore's Maintenance Excellence initiative and show improved assessment score.
  • Identify, justify, and submit Capital Expenditure Requests
  • Develop your team members.
