POSITION SUMMARY:

The WLS Senior Staff Attorney (Bilingual Spanish) assists and/or supplements the handling of client legal work including general litigation management, due diligence, case strategies, and other specific matters as requested. The Senior Staff Attorney works under the supervision of the Director, WLS supporting clients through preparation of legal submissions, expert witness coordination, and fact discovery management. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, responsiveness, critical thinking skills, professionalism, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting project deadlines and hours requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent research and writing skills and near native business level fluency and proficiency in reviewing, analyzing, summarizing, and translating Spanish documents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Legal research and writing
  • Preparation of advocacy arguments and representations
  • Analysis/Review of opposing and third-party productions
  • Preparation of deposition witness kits and deposition summaries
  • Preparation of fact timelines
  • Investigation support
  • Cite and fact check memoranda and litigation briefs
  • Manage/Support client extranet sites
  • Provide foreign language matter support including assisting with witness interviews, translating documents, and providing document summaries
  • Review and analyze documents using various eDiscovery tools
  • Meets hours expectations for all matters assigned and communicate regarding any needs for adjustments in budgeted hours

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school, with current active admission to any state bar association required. Must be admitted in state where resides
  • Minimum of 3 + years of litigation experience with legal research and writing, discovery and motion practice required
  • Near native level proficiency in Spanish required (will be tested)
  • Must live within a commutable distance to our Dallas office

  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or management experience in a professional setting is preferred
  • Flexibility to travel to other offices/client locations as needed

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze litigation related documents
  • Ability to learn and adopt tech tools to increase efficiency, including AI and document review tools
  • Follow directions for assignments and balance/prioritize multiple assignments
  • Ability to work a demanding schedule to meet aggressive project timelines; this may include working outside standard business hours, including nights and weekends
  • Detail-oriented analytical skills and ability to concentrate for extended periods of time
  • Feels intense project ownership and exhibits an extreme level of responsibility for project details and success
  • Demonstrates an ability to quickly comprehend case objectives and how they translate into project requirements
  • Excellent demeanor, proven interpersonal, organizational, analytical and communication skills
