Job Description

Dewberry's Architecture Team is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Fairfax, VA office with at least 15 years of experience having managed complex projects exceeding $50M construction value through various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design Build, and CM at Risk. Preferred candidate should have a strong background, relationships, and experience in either or both the Federal and Justice Markets. The right candidate will be responsible for managing large internal and external teams to successfully deliver projects.

The right individual will be responsible for managing a growing list of existing and potential federal, state, and municipal clients and projects.

Responsibilities

How will you do this?

    Collaborate with the Architectural Leadership teams to successfully deliver projects.
  • Work closely with Clients, managing relationships, expectations, and day-to-day individual project needs.
  • Take part with internal Teams to conceptualize, design, and produce project documentation.
  • Interface with external Consultants to coordinate disciplines, manage contractual relationships, and maintain schedules.
  • Participate in Business Development and Marketing activities, independently and in conjunction with others, including RFPs and Interviews.
  • Set, monitor, and maintain project budgets, work plans, and schedules through all phases of the design process.


Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture is required.
  • Licensed Architect required, with ability for reciprocal licensure in additional states.
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience required in increasing levels of design experience and client interaction and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Collaborative approach to all aspects of the practice.
  • Expert knowledge of local code requirements and ability to efficiently interface with agencies having jurisdiction, as required.
  • Confident and effective interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Comfortable participating in Business Development and marketing activities.
  • Responsible for developing scope & fees, managing project budgets, client & consultant invoices, agreements, and contracts.
  • Responsible for managing project team resources; advises Office Director of resource and schedule needs.
  • Develops proposals with assistance of PIC(s) and/or Office Director; Participates in client interviews and development of marketing collateral.
  • Reviews and assures document accuracy for client(s), consultant(s) and project team(s).
  • Responsible for projects compliance with Dewberry QMS processes; evaluates and assures review recommendations are implemented; pledges that "lessons learned" are communicated to all staff.
  • A design portfolio demonstrating experience will be required.

Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
