Faculty Part-Time - School of Education

General Summary of the Position:

The School of Education in the College of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Lowell is seeking qualified adjunct faculty for the 2024-2026 academic year to teach graduate-level courses in educational statistics, quantitative methods, and research methods. Courses are available for Master's and Doctoral students.

Successful candidates will demonstrate expertise in quantitative data analysis, a commitment to inclusive and accessible teaching, and an ability to connect statistical concepts to real-world research practices in education and the social sciences.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):



  • Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education or a related field (ABD may be considered)
  • Experience teaching graduate students in education or social sciences
  • Proficiency in SPSS, Stata, R, or other statistical software packages
  • Ability to explain statistical concepts (e.g., regression, ANOVA) in plain language and with practical examples
  • Experience supporting students in applying statistics to research practice


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, anti-racist teaching practices
  • Knowledge of data visualization techniques and tools
  • Experience with online teaching and learning management systems (such as Blackboard)
