How can you make an impact?

As the Senior Product Owner of Data Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in shaping McGraw Hill's platform strategy and delivery for the higher education market, with a specific focus on transforming our Data Solutions strategy. This senior position requires a visionary influencer who can bridge the gap between advanced data technologies and practical educational solutions. You will be responsible for driving innovation by creating new opportunities to monetize data solutions and services, new data-driven platform experiences, enabling our AI capabilities, and ensuring that our platforms deliver exceptional value to administrators, educators and students alike.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States and requires up to 25% travel for the year.

What you will do:

  • Partner with your director to determine product team priorities, investment strategies, and KPIs tied to usage and quality of data-driven platfrom experiences and services. Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments for new data-enabled product lines or experiences and revenue generating data as a service business models.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that supports platform initiatives, including: data collection methods and storage architectures, data quality, hygiene and governance frameworks and integration of disparate data sources across the organization.

  • Own and develop comprehensive investment business case supporting data-enabled platform strategy, including: Detailed financial forecasts with ROI projections, definition of both leading and lagging KPIs, creation of compelling presentations for executive approval, development of operationalization plans, execution oversight and milestone tracking.

  • Create and maintain a 3-5 year market-focused development roadmap that enables platform strategy, creates positive impact for MHHE, and delivers customer value. Champion our platform vision across the organization, acting as a thought leader in data services in support of teaching and learning.

  • Partner with product owners on conceptualization and development of new platforms, products and features, with a focus on data-driven and AI-enhanced solutions.

  • Own market and user research to gain a deep understanding of customer needs, challenges, and motivations in the context of data-driven educational solutions.

  • Utilize data mining and analytics tools to extract actionable insights from user behavior data.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • 5-10 years' experience in product management with a Bachelors degree in in a related field.
  • Experience managing and delivering multiple projects to deadlines and budgets simultaneously as well as delivering highly complex software products with intuitive user experiences from inception to launch.
  • Data-driven mentality with a focus on analyzing and synthesizing financial, usage, and/or research data to understand market trends and product performance to create data-informed strategies.
  • Data Engineering and Scripting experience in Python, SQL or any other scripting tool
  • Experience in AI or Machine Learning, LLMs and tools associated.
  • Certification as an Agile product owner and/or demonstrated success managing software platforms and tools with significant growth or revenue responsibility.
  • Experience with Pendo, Google Analytics, Web Trends or Salesforce reporting. Experience in accessibility & WCAG guidelines.

The pay range for this position is between $70,000 and $125,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
