Description |
We are seeking an experienced Lean Six Sigma Black Belt to lead process improvement initiatives within our chemical processing operations and transactional processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving significant improvements in efficiency, quality, and cost savings by utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies. As a Black Belt, you will manage high-impact projects, mentor and train Yellow Belts, Green Belts, and influence stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous improvement. |

Role Specific Responsibilities:
- Identify, prioritize, and lead complex, cross-functional Lean Six Sigma projects to improve product quality, reduce waste, increase throughput, and drive cost reduction.
- Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools (DMAIC, value stream mapping, Kaizen, etc.) to analyze and enhance chemical processing workflows, focusing on reducing variability and eliminating non-value-added activities.
- Collect, interpret, and analyze data to identify trends, root causes of process issues, and opportunities for improvement. Use statistical tools to validate improvements and ensure sustainability.
- Lead change management efforts by collaborating with department heads, process engineers, and other stakeholders to implement process improvements effectively.
- Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to Green Belts, Yellow Belts, and project team members to build Lean Six Sigma capabilities across the organization.
- Develop and implement cost reduction strategies, optimizing chemical production processes, energy usage, and materials consumption. Provide a minimum 4x annual investment in hard dollar savings
- Partner with Quality Assurance and Production teams to address process deviations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process efficiency, product quality, waste reduction, and project success rates.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging the adoption of Lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications/Desired Skills
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt required.
Experience:
- 3-7 years of experience in process improvement, operational excellence, or related roles within the chemical processing industry.
- Previous experience in a continuous chemical production environment (e.g., specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals).
- Experience with regulatory compliance in chemical manufacturing (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and process automation technologies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, Lean tools (5S, Kanban, SMED), and Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC, DFSS).
- Proficient in data analysis, statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP, EngineRoom), and process simulation tools.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a track record of driving tangible results.
- Travel up to 35%
