Job Summary

Strengthen the Institute processes for major enterprise investments by facilitating and coordinating gating and decision processes. Establish and promote an enterprise level portfolio management approach with a focus on specific investment types (e.g. technology investments). Oversee and support project execution through continual coordination of program/portfolio plans, data analysis, reporting and education. This position will interact on a regular basis with: faculty, staff, students, and vendors. This position typically will advise and counsel: faculty, staff and vendors. This position may supervise: administrative support and analyst level team members.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - Manage enterprise level programs and portfolios through the design and facilitation of Institute wide governance processes
Job Duty 2 - Guide and support project and program managers in the initiation, planning, execution, and closing of projects within defined portfolios
Job Duty 3 - Advise and mentor organizational leaders on the creation and launch of portfolio management functions across the Institute
Job Duty 4 - Provide portfolio management oversight to include creation and tracking of metrics, project status, prioritization and ranking, and roadmaps
Job Duty 5 - Facilitate the development of business cases for potential projects. Work with the proposing unit leader, the Institute budget office and procurement to perform total cost of ownership analysis data analysis, cost benefit analysis, and financial modeling
Job Duty 6 - Design, develop and maintain tools and processes for portfolio management and enterprise level tracking. Partner with business services to measure adherence to established governance processes
Job Duty 7 - Assist with the creation and delivery of materials related to project/program management education and mentoring
Job Duty - 8 Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Seven to ten years job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree in related field

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience: Higher education experience with in an R1 institution.
Other Preferred Qualifications: Certified Research Administror (CRA)

Proposed Salary

$130,000 Annually

This is a limited-term position and is subject to availability of funding thereafter. All employment and assignments are ultimately contingent upon available funding, business needs, and your performance of the assignment. Georgia Tech retains the right to terminate this assignment at any time for cause or, in its sole discretion, for convenience; in either case, Georgia Tech's obligation shall be limited to payment for hours and/or days worked prior to the termination date.
