Utility Position - Milwaukee, WI:

Shift hours: *Currently hiring for night shift and 3rd shift, but needs to be open to working off-shifts when needed *

    • 12-hour shifts
      • Night Crew: 7 pm to 7 am
    • Schedule Pattern
      • 2-2-3 Schedule - on-shift for 2 days, off-shift for 2 days, on-shift 3 for days, etc.
    • 3rd shift: 11 pm - 7 pm
      • 12-2 Schedule
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, and weekends and holidays
  • Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Pay:

  • $21/per hour

About our Location:

Our Milwaukee manufacturing cite is located in a big city, with big city amenities, but with a lower cost than most. Our site was originally owned by the Gardetto family, who created Gardetto's by using any broken breadsticks leftover in their plant combined with seasonings! What your day will look like:

  • Assist with production by transporting Bins, pallets etc. day as required.
  • As necessary, rework product, packages which do not meet company quality standards.
  • Engage in continuous improvement projects by identifying opportunities for process enhancements, efficiency gains, and cost reduction.
  • Ability to work and communicate with others in a professional and effective manner, within a team-oriented environment. Train other utility team members with less experience in the mastery of job skills which will allow them to advance.
  • Clean areas throughout the plant that are not assigned to other personnel.
  • Perform proper level of sanitation as required and at the frequency described in the Work Order, or SSOPs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by sweeping area to rid of product on the floor and any other debris such as box bands, film, tape, etc. as required by company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area according to 5S standards and assure that all powered industrial equipment used is inspected and qualify with all quality, safety and GMP standards.
  • Complete additional work assignments as assigned by Cell Leader. Additional duties may be assigned by your Team Leader.
  • Must be flexible to work any shift or weekend hours as needed (for example, may be required to begin shift early for effective pass down of shift-to-shift information).
  • Must be able to walk with arm extended behind back while operating an electric bin lift. Must be able to maneuver bins on wheels for short periods of time.
  • This position will require various levels knowledge in areas such as operational, mechanical, sanitation, quality, and safety categories.

Equipment Used:

Electric pallet jack, WAVE, counting and incremental conveyors, product delivery system, Forklift, Forklift clamp truck. Sanitation Materials such as paper towels, green scrubbies, scrub bucket, scraper (non-food contact), broom, mop, and mop bucket

What you have to offer:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred
  • Ability to solve diverse procedural problems within well-defined standards by selecting from learned responses.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft systems (Outlook, Excel, and Word) and Maximo (CMMS).
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot basic electrical circuits. Must display a willingness to learn additional electrical skills.

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
  • Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
  • Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
  • Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
  • Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
