Job Summary

We are seeking a Sr. Developer with 7 to 9 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Big Data Amazon S3 and Python. Experience in the Utilities domain is a plus. This hybrid role requires working in a day shift with no travel required. The candidate will contribute to impactful projects that drive our company's mission forward.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scalable Big Data solutions to support various business needs.
  • Utilize Amazon S3 for efficient data storage and retrieval processes.
  • Write clean efficient and maintainable code in Python to support data processing tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity and security across all platforms and applications.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends and insights that drive business decisions.
  • Optimize existing data pipelines for performance and scalability.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data processing and storage.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our data solutions.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Document all development processes code changes and data models for future reference.

Qualifications

  • Possess a strong understanding of Big Data technologies and their applications.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using Amazon S3 for data storage and management.
  • Exhibit advanced skills in Python programming for data processing tasks.
  • Have experience in the Utilities domain which is considered a plus.
  • Show ability to work in a hybrid model balancing remote and on-site work effectively.
  • Display excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Adapt to changing project requirements and priorities with ease.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to learning and implementing new technologies.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality work within set deadlines.
  • Show capability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Possess a strong understanding of data security and privacy best practices.

Certifications Required

Certified Big Data Professional AWS Certified Solutions Architect Python Institute Certified

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $90,000 - $ 110,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
