V2x is looking for an experienced Quality / EH&S (Environmental Health & Safety) Supervisor to oversee and support quality assurance and environmental, health, and safety programs at the Advanced Helicopter Training System (AHTS) on NAS Whiting Field. This role is critical in ensuring that all operations meet the highest quality standards and adhere to EH&S regulations, enhancing both safety and efficiency in a demanding aviation training environment.

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:



  • Responsible to the QA Manager in performing assigned duties.
  • Reports directly to the QA Manager on all matters.
  • Ensure compliance with the government contract (PWS), NAMP program, company, maintenance instructions, and company policies and procedures to ensure safe and expeditious support of the Navy's Flight Training Program.
  • Represent the company during inspections and audits, including corporate EH&S audit, AMMT, or AMI inspections.
  • Oversee the Audit Program to determine the condition of assigned equipment and proficiency of maintenance personnel.
  • Performs analysis of available data to determine the effectiveness of QMS processes and programs. Develops and deploys improvement strategies related to the QMS.
  • Utilizing audit and inspection data, provide a systematic and efficient method of gathering, analyzing, and maintaining information on maintenance and material defects that impact the Aircraft Maintenance Program.
  • Keeps the QA Manager apprised of the Audit Program status and works with other work center supervisors/managers as required to accomplish audits.
  • Teams with the managers of other departments to analyze maintenance and logistics data to identify trends and deficiencies.
  • Participates in government and company audits to verify compliance and develop solutions for identified shortfalls or corrective action requests to prevent a recurrence.
  • Perform duties as Hazardous Waste Supervisor/Coordinator in all actions pertaining to hazardous waste dealing with the generation of waste storage, transport, and disposal, including the process of paperwork and filing to ensure "cradle to grave tracking" in each division.
  • Perform duties as Hazardous Material Supervisor/Coordinator in all actions pertaining to hazardous material control including requisition approval, proper labeling, storage, and "cradle to grave tracking" (CRIMP) and shelf life inspection in each division.
  • Responsible for providing, updating, and maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in designated work areas.
  • Manages all actions pertaining to general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the OSHA, contract, facilities, Company manual, and job assignment. Specific programs that are managed include but are not limited to Respiratory Protection, Confined Space, Hazardous Communication, Specific Risk Chemicals, Electrical Safety, and Lock out-Tag Out.
  • Manages site environmental programs to include, but are not limited to, Environmental Management System (EMS), Storm Water Pollution Prevention, Hazardous Waste Minimization, Air Emissions, Wastewater Pollution Prevention, and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC).
  • Maintain close liaison with NAS Whiting Field Environmental Office for all matters concerning environmental rules and regulations.
  • Identify and resolve any potential or actual Safety, Environmental compliance, HAZMAT, or HAZWASTE related problems.
  • Develop training presentations and administer comprehensive training to other employees in all required training areas IAW Environmental, Health, and Safety program to comply with company, federal, state, and Naval Air Station directives.
  • Must maintain an active role on all boards/committees to ensure the site remains in compliance at all times.
  • Must maintain copies of all reports and records for viewing and complying with any corrective action required.
  • Perform technical research using publications, catalogs, and directives.
  • Conduct investigations of accident mishaps (injuries) and prepare reports.
  • Comply with established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities, and job assignment.
  • Comply with established Hazardous Material/Waste Programs and Local, State, and Federal Environmental Protection Agency regulations.
  • Assist when directed to ensure safety, security, and preservation of government-owned and company-owned equipment and property.
  • Share technical knowledge with company employees to enhance the accomplishment of assigned tasks.
  • Implement and develop a Respirator Protection Program and perform respirator training and fit test for employees needing respirators.
  • Required to handle hazardous materials in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Maintain the highest ethical personal and professional standards.
  • Perform other projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Attend Company, Base Environmental and or Hazmat, Federal and State meetings/training as required.
  • Other duties as required by the QA Manager relevant to the functions and oversight of the Quality Assurance Department.


Professional Requirements, Qualifications, and Desired Competencies:



  • Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years experience in the management, administration or operation of a safety and occupational health program or experience in administrative work concerned with safety and occupational health activities, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of related program functions OR Associate's Degree plus 6 years experience in the management, administration or operation of a safety and occupational health program or experience in administrative work concerned with safety and occupational health activities, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of related program functions OR High School Diploma or Equivalent plus 12 years experience in the management, administration or operation of a safety and occupational health program or experience in administrative work concerned with safety and occupational health activities, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of related program functions, 9 of which must be related exempt experience.
  • Shall possess knowledge of the principles, standards, and techniques of safety and occupational health management and have experience in planning, organizing, directing, operating, and evaluating the safety and occupational health program for an entire command or site and shall have a comprehensive knowledge of safety as it relates to high-performance maintenance.
  • Additionally, the EH&S Supervisor shall have a minimum of two (2) years of experience within the last four (4) years in the management, administration, or operation of a hazardous material/ waste program. The experience shall include receiving, storage, distribution and handling, and disposal of all types of material that may be utilized at the job site.
  • Must be familiar with the CNAFINST 4790.2 series, and other applicable Navy instructions, maintenance instruction manuals, and company instructions as required for the performance of job functions.
  • Must have a valid state operator's license and be able to pass the government licensing requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required DOD security clearances.
  • Must be able to work weekends, other shifts, and overtime as required.
  • Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instruction.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data
  • HAZWOPER 40-Hour certification is preferred.
  • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) training is preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain extensive knowledge of complex and technical regulations, including government Hazardous Waste Management Plan, OSHA Regulations (29 CFR Part 1910, General Industry), DOT Hazardous Material Transportation (49 CFR Parts 100-185), EPA (40 CFR) Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and other applicable, State and Federal regulations.
  • Must be capable of developing local policies and procedures to comply with government Hazardous Waste Management Plan, OSHA Regulations (General Industry), DOT Hazardous Material Transportation, EPA Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and other applicable, State and Federal regulations.
  • Must be able to develop training presentations and administer comprehensive training to other employees.
  • Some travel will be required.


Physical Requirements:



  • Primarily office environment. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • At times, must be able to work in an aircraft hangar environment and board/exit aircraft.
  • At times, must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and stoop.
  • Must be able to walk particularly for long distances or move from one work site to another.
  • Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as typing.
  • Must be able to work at heights, subject to noise, subject to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, work on scaffolding, exposure to heat/cold.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.

      • USD $85,000 - $90,000.
