The VP AADAD Business Unit (agitation associated with dementia due to Alzheimer's disease) leads the marketing and sales teams to achieve sales and profit goals, collaborates with the cross-functional teams to gain their support in achieving business objectives, builds a team of high performing, highly engaged, diverse talent, and builds effective relationships with key external stakeholders such as advocacy groups, KOLs, and alliance partners. The VP AADAD Business Unit is also responsible for the financial performance of the business unit, including P&L management, sales goal achievement, expense management, and reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead AADAD sales and marketing teams.
- Lead the development of a product(s) in the US, which includes 1 actively promoted brands.
- Set, guide, and monitor commercial strategy and tactics, with a focus on product launch, lifecycle and end-of-lifecycle activities.
- Contribute to setting the annual product and financial targets and align the team and stakeholders to ensure they are met or exceeded.
- Collaborate regularly with internal local and global stakeholders as well alliance partners and represent Lundbeck on key alliance leadership committees.
- Ensure high levels of individual and organizational performance via performance-based metrics in all commercial operations and investments.
- Hands-on management and full accountability for team operations and P&L for product(s) in the business unit
- Cultivate Lundbeck's culture and high levels of engagement throughout the Business Unit
- Establish productive relationships and collaborate closely with colleagues and senior management in the U.S. and headquarters (Copenhagen, Denmark) to develop and execute brand strategies.
- Strengthen and optimize the business unit's infrastructure and processes.
- Work effectively with critical partner organizations (including advocacy groups and key external stakeholders such as KOLs)
- Oversees cross-functional brand teams to ensure effective planning and execution.
- Develop diverse and effective teams and grow talent to ensure strong succession pipeline.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Accredited bachelor's degree
- 12+ years relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industry
- Breadth of commercial leadership experience, including experience in multiple commercial functions including marketing, sales, market access, market research, analytics, or commercial operations
- Proven commercial operations and P&L experience with demonstrated ability to implement strategies and tactics to accelerate brand performance.
- Demonstrated executive level leadership with the ability to think broadly about business strategy beyond area of responsibility.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively cross-functionally as well as with external partners.
- Significant experience creating and executing brand plans and commercial plans.
- Demonstrated success in leading individuals and organizations to achieve business objectives.
- Exceptional ability to build relationships, communicate and influence individuals and teams to motivate them to high levels of engagement and performance.
- Knowledge of pricing strategies, reimbursement, distribution channels, payers and market access
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical regulatory and compliance environment
PREFERRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- MBA and/or post-graduate degree
- Experience in commercializing products throughout the lifecycle, including pre-launch, launch and through loss of exclusivity.
- Experience managing a portfolio of brands/products.
- Psychiatry therapeutic experience
- Experience in both medical and pharmacy benefits.
TRAVEL
- Willingness/Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time is required. Travel is primarily domestic, but occasional international travel is required.
- If based remotely, additional travel will be required to Deerfield, IL, to meet the needs of the role and the business
