Job Description: Summary: The person in this position will work on multidisciplinary project teams providing hydrologic engineering and related technical expertise, primarily for water retaining dams and hydropower facilities. Primary responsibilities will include hydrologic assessment of wet and dry extreme precipitation and flow events; modeling rainfall, snowmelt, and rain-on-snowmelt events; developing inflow hydrographs and flow duration curves; flood frequency analysis and hydrologic hazard curve development; reservoir operation simulation; inundation modeling and mapping; hydrologic engineering analysis; report writing; dam safety evaluations; and risk analyses. The work may involve short-term, out-of-town assignments either in the field or in another office. As markets fluctuate, opportunities may also include working on other types of water resource projects such as stormwater infrastructure, flood routing and risk reduction, or irrigation systems. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of either Barr's Denver or Fort Collins, Colorado, or Salt Lake City, Utah, offices. Colorado Applicants Only: Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000-$130,000. Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus.
