Job Description: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Respiratory Therapy I Lexington, KY Part-Time, First Shift The Baptist Health Respiratory Care department helps patients breathe better and live healthier. We offer comprehensive pulmonary function testing, advanced ventilator management, pulmonary rehabilitation programs, asthma and COPD education and management, and 24/7 emergency respiratory care. - Assesses the appropriateness of therapy and makes recommendations.
- Performs, assesses, and instructs the effective administration of oxygen, aerosol medications, humidification, suctioning, and chest physiotherapy.
- Patient/family education will also include the safe and effective use of equipment where applicable.
- Performs effective airway management, supportive ventilation, and chest compressions during CPR.
- Administers medications and assesses patient response.
- Obtains and process blood/arterial blood gases without direct supervision.
- Reports results without direct supervision.
- Serves as a resource for nursing, physicians, and respiratory orientees and students.
- Evaluates, monitors, analyzes, and makes recommendations in Quality Improvement activities.
- Responds to all respiratory care pages in a timely manner.
- Manages difficult or emotional customer situations.
Requirements:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Licensed by the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Kentucky and in accordance with the provisions of KRS chapter 314A.
- Maintain an active BLS.
- Must obtain PALS and NRP within 6 months.
