YMCA of Greater Houston Youth Development Director supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This position develops, organizes, and implements high-quality YMCA Early Care . The Youth Development Director will create a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while inspiring youth to discover their passions. This position will enthusiastically represent the Y by displaying a positive attitude, maintaining a high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job. YMCA Youth Development Directors build and maintain strong relationships with families, community and YMCA centers through positive proactive communication. They implement curriculum to meet licensing standards and improve quality through program evaluation and assessment. Youth Development Directors recruit, hire and onboard YMCA lead teachers, assistant teachers, cooks, front desk staff, bus drivers and all positions needed to deliver high quality programs while maintaining fiduciary responsibility and oversight. Youth Development Directors in Early Care review program quality data and market trends to make decisions that will increase YMCA brand equity and impact program awareness. Essential Functions:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables. TRAVEL Travel is primarily local between assigned centers during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
