Job Description

We are currently hiring a Sr. Financial Operations Analyst in Milton, DE.

*A Hybrid position at Boston Beer requires that our coworkers reside within commuting distance to be onsite according to their teams' weekly schedule.

Bring your financial acumen and analysis skills to a dynamic, team orientated, manufacturing environment. The Senior Financial Operations Analyst will be responsible for the month-end closing process at the brewery, and management reporting along with the analysis of operating performance. With a proactive and curious mindset, this person will also oversee reporting, project tracking and guiding the brewery to achieve annual cost savings goals. This role will make an immediate impact on Brewery Operations, leveraging their financial expertise and business partnering abilities to build influential relationships across the company.

What You'll Brew:



  • Actively participate in annual zero-based budgeting exercise and quarterly forecast processes
  • Lead the Cost Savings program for the brewery, tracking projects to ensure visibility to risk and opportunities
  • Be the primary business partner for Brewing and Packaging as it relates to losses
  • Collaborate across the brewery and across supply chain finance team on ad-hoc analysis, delivering business critical analysis with a sense of urgency and a focus on accuracy
  • Ownership of the annual physical inventory process
  • Accurate and frequent review of Material Usage Variance to include reporting and analysis of inventory adjustments
  • Own monthly operations management reporting process and analysis
  • Ownership of a variety of reporting and associated analysis for assigned materials to help deliver cost savings, including scrap, labor, and inventory
  • Own the annual development of Standard Costs, collaborate with operations managers to build segment loss targets and throughput assumptions, including analysis of full absorption
  • Participate in month-end, forecast, and annual budget reporting
  • Occasional travel for meetings and trainings


What Ingredients You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to use analytical competencies to analyze and leverage data from internal and external sources, and persuasively present findings
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills are necessary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Cost accounting experience preferred, with experience with yearend absorption


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelors degree in Business or related field
  • SAP experience strongly preferred


Level: 6

At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $61,200 and $109,200. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for an discretionary annual bonus based on company and induvial performance, and certain sales roles might include a car allowance.
