The Production Team Lead is responsible for the overall operation of an assigned production line including safety, food safety, quality, and productivity. Shift hours: You will be scheduled to work five 8-hour shifts. 2nd shift between Monday - Friday and 3rd shift between Sunday - Thursday.
- 2nd shift: 1:30pm - 10:00pm, 2:00pm - 10:30pm
- 3rd shift: 9:30pm - 6:00am, 10:00pm - 6:30am
- Ability and willingness to work overtime
Pay:
- $23.11 per hour
- Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked on 2nd shift.
- Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked on 3rd shift.

- Troubleshoot problems with machinery and partner with maintenance staff to resolve issues.
- Calibrate processing and packaging systems daily to meet required specifications.
- Participate in startup, changeover, and shut down of operating equipment.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Follow and champion the performance expectations that are set forth by the company including but not limited to safety, productivity, food quality, and reporting requirements each day as a leader.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, follow and enforce GMP and PPE requirements.
- Responsible for running scheduled product on assigned line, ensuring quality checks are performed and reporting efficiencies, waste, and overall productivity via boards and assigned documentation.
- Partner with other Team Leads and Supervisors to properly staff all lines for production during shift.
- Assign employees tasks as needed as well as providing oversight on rotation breaks.
- Partner with Shift Trainers and other Team Leads to provide cross training opportunities as needed .
- Delegate and assist shut down and cleaning procedures in partnership with Supervisors and Sanitation and startup of equipment.
- Report operating line malfunctions and concerns to Maintenance and management prompt.
- Effectively communicate and lead employees on the line, report employee concerns to management or Human Resources.
- Have the ability to use computer to send shift report using SAGE, excel and outlook.
- Ensure line is in control and clean/organized at shift change over.
- Responsible for conducting line meeting with assigned crew.
- Ensure all team members are working safely and efficiently .
- Make sure the assigned line is following rotation fairly.
- Ensure paperwork are completed on time.
- Ensure operators have enough supplies (2 hours or more) for the upcoming shift.
- Have the ability to run all equipment in the assigned line.
- Change press plates as required per the production schedule.
- Must be willing to assist in other areas of the plant as assigned to do so.
What you have to offer:
- Employees must be able to read and write in English to understand the daily paperwork as well as to follow directions listed on the equipment and to receive ongoing training, including safety training.
- Minimum of a high school education or GED.
- Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in basic computer programs such as Outlook and Excel required.
- Bilingual in other languages such as Somali, Hmong, and Spanish strongly preferred.
- Previous experience leading others through influence preferred.
- Previous baking manufacturing experience preferred.
- Must have proven experience of mechanical abilities to operate basic hand tools in the disassembly and assembly of dough making handling and packaging equipment.
- Follow all company rules, regulations, and documentation.
- Ability to be flexible with line movement and cross training capabilities.
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
- Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
- Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
- Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
- Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
- Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
- Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
