Maintenance Technician

As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for preventative and reactive maintenance of processing and packaging equipment and providing technical support to improve and optimize within the manufacturing operations and processes.

Shift hours:

You will be scheduled to work 12-hour shifts on a 2, 2, 3 Schedule

  • 6 pm - 6 am on a 2-2-3 schedule
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Plant operation is 24 hours a day 7 days a week - When demand increases, hours and days can increase

Pay:

  • $34.23 per hour
  • Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked on 3rd shift.

    • Repair and maintain production equipment and facilities during assigned production shift in order to meet budget levels in quality and quantity
    • Maintain assigned paperwork
    • Complete assigned tasks and special projects
    • Promotes and exhibits strong Food Safety and Quality practices
    • Promotes and exhibits strong sustainability practices
    • Promotes and exhibits strong housekeeping practices
    • Must report Safety, Food Safety, and Quality, Sustainability and Housekeeping problems to direct supervisor immediately
    • Actively participate in teams and on projects to improve the metrics for given area of responsibility
    • Assist Autonomous Maintenance process in plant
    • Perform other duties as assigned

What you have to offer:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • Proficient in English
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
  • Skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production equipment
  • Associate Degree or relevant or 5 years of experience with no degree
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of PLC operation, electrical components and systems troubleshooting, including use of a multimeter
  • Basic shop equipment (mill, lathe, grinder, presses, etc) preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
  • Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
  • Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
  • Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
  • Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
