IT Systems Engineer - Melbourne, FL - Public Trust

IT Systems Engineer needed for an opportunity with SOC's client to work in Melbourne, FL.

SOC seeks an IT Systems Engineer to manage enterprise-grade storage and server environments within our Mission Networks portfolio. This role is key in maintaining system performance and reliability for high availability lab/production environments

Responsibilities


  • Maintain and optimize enterprise-grade storage solutions, with a focus on NetApp, and manage robust server infrastructures using VMware coupled with Cisco UCS-X and Dell servers.
  • Monitor storage and server performance to ensure optimal operation and system resilience.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime
  • Utilize Network Management Systems (NMS) like Zabbix and Grafana for system monitoring.
  • Perform capacity planning for storage and server resources to meet future scalability needs.
  • Develop Python scripts and utilize APIs for system automation and integration, improving operational efficiency.
  • Support the administration of Linux and Windows systems

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT Security or related field, and minimum 4 years related experience; or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT Security or related field, and minimum 6 years related experience. Or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Strong experience with enterprise-grade storage systems, especially NetApp, and server platforms like Cisco UCS-X and Dell.
  • Proficient in using NMS tools for performance monitoring and experienced in Python scripting and API integration.

Preferred Additional Skills:



  • Expertise in configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing storage and server hardware.
  • Capable of performing detailed system documentation and proactive capacity planning.
  • Effective remote collaboration skills, with the ability to solve problems independently and adapt to new challenges.
