DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Health Equity Undergraduate Intern, you will be encouraged to gain input and expertise on areas of the department which are of interest to you and develop a networking relationship with different bureaus within the department. This position encourages you to take on as much responsibility as you feel capable to achieve. You will have the opportunity to become an integral part of the Office of Health Equity completing the following duties:
- Developing plans for evaluation and research projects to identify health disparities, public health issues, and address strategies
- Applying a variety of communication methods and techniques
- Attending, monitoring, and summarizing meetings with stakeholders
- Reviewing and assisting with formatting publications and health policies that are developed
- Completing special projects as assigned

- Internship, January through June, approximately 20 hours per week
- Work hours are flexible within operational business hours, Monday - Friday
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. You will be expected to report to the headquarter office in Harrisburg as needed or as directed by your supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:
- Currently enrolled or recent graduate of a undergraduate level program
- In good academic standing (2.0 Grade Point Average [GPA] or higher) if currently enrolled
- School credit will be determined by the college or university
- Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
