Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
This position will be operating out of the Main Campus location, located in Wilmington, NC. The Education Lab Coach will support students in elementary and middle grade teacher education coursework. The Education Lab Coach will support individual or small groups of preservice teacher candidates in all academic subjects as directed by Ed Lab faculty. The Education Lab Coach will supervise teacher candidates, review lesson plans, model instruction, coach one-to-one teaching, and will provide feedback on instruction based on course/lab connections. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Master's degree in the teaching discipline with 18 hours of discipline-focused master level coursework from a regionally accredited institution or those with equivalent verifiable professional experience, certifications, and licensures in the discipline may also be considered. |
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience |
Experience in coaching, supervision or teaching at college level. Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, effective organizations skills, and detail orientation. Must exhibit cultural competence and possess a broad understanding of student academic, developmental, and social needs. Skill with online instructional platforms (Canvas, Task Stream, Zoom) |
