POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for including the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope. This role reports to the Engineering Director and is based out of our Seabrook, NJ location.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee all aspects of projects including identifying potential projects, creation of project submittals, development and tracking of Microsoft project schedules, management of capital spending, forecast and tracking cashflows, setting deadlines, assigning project responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of projects.
  • Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.
  • Focused on packaging and process related projects and any other projects as needed.
  • Commercialize required packaging and process innovations as well as identify improvement projects.
  • Prepares engineering designs and work specifications.
  • Provide technical support and direction to the manufacturing plants
  • Monitors progress and performance against the project plan.
  • Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
  • Identifies, develops, and gathers resources necessary to complete the project.
  • Support projects across the Lassonde network and as such requires up to 75% travel. The position ideally would be positioned near the Hendersonville, NC facility to reduce required travel, Hendersonville being one of the largest facilities.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Engineering degree
  • 10 years packaging experience, preferably in the beverage industry
  • 5 plus years of project management experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Hotfill and Aseptic manufacturing
  • Solid knowledge of blow molding PET bottles
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Good communication skills, particularly to Senior leadership
  • Understand OSHA/FDA/USDA/EPA requirements in manufacturing
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule across all shifts to execute work as needed
  • Competency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Outlook, Excel and Word

  • Ability to direct, coach and train others.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task
  • Proven organizational skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical manufacturing setting.

FREQUENT: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).

OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
