POSITION SUMMARY

The Process Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is based out of our Seabrook, New Jersey location. This individual will be responsible for the daily follow-up of the existing food processes, methods, and the technical training of employees.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the daily technical follow-up of production operation procedures, and specifications in collaboration with the Plant Manager.
  • Ensure the conformity of the methods and the processing control systems while adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Coach employees by implementing and maintaining good work and safety standards. Ensure employees are trained and adhere to safe work practices and company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for working in a safe manner and maintaining a work environment as free as possible from hazards to ensure the safety of employees in compliance with the OHSA and internal safety policies and procedures.
  • In collaboration with various participants, identify problems and abnormalities. Analyze and propose practical and effective solutions.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining production and sanitation procedures, and ensuring they are kept up to date.
  • Collaborate with the person(s) responsible for training plant employees on the procedures and methods of existing processes as well as new technologies.
  • Verify the effectiveness, price, and safety of detergents used for sanitation, while maximizing the dosage of these products.
  • In collaboration with various participants, identify problems and abnormalities. Analyze and propose practical and effective solutions.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining production and sanitation procedures, and ensuring they are kept up to date.
  • Collaborate with the person(s) responsible for training plant employees on the procedures and methods of existing processes as well as new technologies.
  • Verify the effectiveness, price, and safety of detergents used for sanitation, while maximizing the dosage of these products.
  • Supervise and/or carry out technical studies, gathering current research data pertinent to the technical development and the implementation of existing technologies.
  • Organize, plan, and manage in collaboration with various departments, technological tests for materials & packaging, cleaning, and sanitation products.
  • Ensure close cooperation with Purchasing and Quality Assurance relating to the settlement of complaints or claims, which involve technical complaints about containers and packaging materials.
  • Maintain effective communication with various departments.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage 1-2 employees
  • Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback, coaching, counseling, and disciplining; conduct training; implement enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; and reviewing professional publications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Technical training in food technology/ safety or similar work experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the processing industry preferably the food and beverages sector
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience

  • Experience in the food/beverage industry

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other integrated computer software (knowledge of BPCS and Powerplay is a strong asset)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical manufacturing setting.

FREQUENT: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).

OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.

VISION: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.

HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines and exhaust fans.
