About the Role

Culmen International is seeking a Junior Scientist II - Microbiologist/Immunologist to join our team in Silver Springs, Maryland.



What You'll Do in Your New Role

The Junior Scientist II - Microbiologist/Immunologist shall have expertise in bacterial pathogenesis, immunology, microbiology, ESKAPEE pathogens, animal model development, monoclonal antibody discovery and development, and bacterial therapeutic target identification and development.

    Performing a variety of laboratory procedures and works as part of a scientific team to advance the understanding of biological questions to contribute to the advancement of product development
  • Familiar with the concepts, practices, and procedures in fields such as microbiology, immunology, monoclonal antibody discovery and development, molecular biology, vaccinology, clinical trials, bioinformatics, and pathogen discovery
  • Shall be capable of working independently and leading teams to resolve complex scientific questions to methodically advance the development of products
  • Actively pursues the scientific objectives of the WID and contributes significantly to key strategic planning and the execution of future studies\
  • Leads the analysis and interpretation of data; writes proposals; solicits grants; establishes collaborations with other entities (e.g., universities); and presents data at meetings. The junior scientist II typically reports to a unit or department head


Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D.
  • Five years of experience in a designated field (e.g., microbiology, immunology, bacterial pathogenesis, animal model development, monoclonal antibody discovery and development, vaccinology, clinical trials, pathogen discovery)
