Regions Hospital Microbiology Laboratory is currently seeking a self-motivated, quality-focused Lead Medical Lab Scientist to join our team. As a Lead Medical Lab Scientist at Regions Hospital, you will work as a member of a technical team in the Clinical Laboratory. Our team has also been engaged in developing our new laboratory information system designed to provide efficiency and patient safety. Your work will support Regions Hospital as well as six other suburban hospitals and over twenty clinics in our network. As part of our team, you will:
This position is in our Regions Hospital microbiology lab. Our lab supports microbiology testing for the HealthPartners System. This position would be set-up and processing specimens for cultures and molecular testing, reading cultures, using Maldi, BD Kiestra Automation Line, BD Phoenix, and manual susceptibility testing. Work schedule: FTE: 1.0 (40 hrs. weekly), Evening shift 1500-2330, Rotating weekends and holidays. Required Qualifications: Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, biology, or related field; successful completion of a Clinical rotation in an approved program that qualifies for ASCP, or equivalent. Advanced training and/or experience or master's degree in a specialty area can be substituted for ASCP certification. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a MT or MLS with at least 1 year experience in the specialty area occurring in the last 4 years.
