Optimized Process Designs (OPD), a Koch Company, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Structural Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team that engineers and constructs midstream natural gas and natural gas products plants. In this role, you will provide mentorship and guidance to group managers and lead civil structural engineers, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization of designer hours. You will collaborate closely with project managers, project teams, and other engineering disciplines to develop and execute effective project design strategies that meet civil and structural requirements with aggressive project schedules. This role will sit at our headquarters in Katy, TX Monday - Friday. This role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship. What You Will Do * Manage, mentor, develop, and coach lead civil structural engineers to foster a high-performing engineering team. * Collaborate with the Civil/Structural Design manager to optimize designer hours and allocations to ensure workload is effectively managed. * Work closely with Project Managers and other engineering disciplines to develop and execute effective project design strategies. * Oversee the preparation of comprehensive scopes of work, technical specifications, and necessary drawings for bid packages. * Resolve construction and engineering design issues through effective interaction with suppliers and contractors. * Develop strategies to optimize the civil/structural engineering workflow, planning effectiveness, and estimation. * Provide necessary support during projects and field construction, including troubleshooting and evaluating existing civil/structural systems. * Develop the Civil/Structural and project scopes and estimates, execute all aspects of civil/structural design, and support project construction. * Participate in final design coordination meetings and approve necessary modifications. * Mentor engineers on concrete and structural steel design. * Participate in proposal preparation as needed. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * BS in Civil or Structural Engineering * Proven experience in gas treatment and/or natural gas structural design * Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
