[1] Georgia-Pacific has an immediate opening for a Environmental Program Manager supporting our Packaging and Cellulose Facilities. The Environmental Program Manager creates long term value by working with sites to ensure risks are identified and mitigated, compliance issues are properly addressed, and systems and tools are properly utilized while sustaining performance improvement and striving for environmental excellence. This position will work closely with environmental professionals both inside and outside the organization to leverage best practices and knowledge to drive the highest value for the company. This position will report to the Senior Director, Environmental Packaging and Cellulose. Our Team Georgia-Pacific's Packaging and Cellulose business is a leading provider of paper-based packaging, cellulose fibers, and related products. We produce a wide range of packaging solutions, including containerboard, corrugated containers, and specialty packaging, which serve various industries such as food and beverage, retail, and e-commerce. To learn more about our Packaging and Cellulose division, please visit: [3] www.gppackaging.com What You Will Do * Provide leadership and strategic direction to facilities consistent with our Stewardship & Compliance Principle to achieve our Vision * Directly work with facilities to help address critical risks and compliance issues in multi-media compliance programs across the Containerboard and Cellulose organization * Help sites knowledge share, build capability, close gaps, develop programs, and fulfil regulatory compliance obligations in a disciplined manner that leverages technology enablers, common processes, and best practices from across the organization * Systematically help facilities drive environmental programs to be more resilient, effective, consistent, verifiable, and efficient (structured and principled vs rule based) * Utilize key metrics to identify opportunities to improve environmental performance and work with facilities to develop robust systems to close gaps and mitigate recurrence * Work with facilities to ensure proper regulatory documentation and facility knowledge is adequate for agency inspections * Work with facilities on strategic multi-media initiatives/activities across the organization * Build solid working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including regulatory agencies * Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of mill processes and their impact on environmental performance to allow you to properly assist facilities when issues arise Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or Pulp and Paper Science * Five (5) or more years of environmental compliance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment * Experience leading projects, people, and/or teams * Must travel 35% to 50% of the time What Will Put You Ahead * 10 or more years of environmental compliance experience in pulp and paper operations * Experience managing environmental obligations in a heavy industrial setting * Pulp and Paper process knowledge * Experience conducting facility audits or inspections to identify improvement areas * Experience analyzing process or environmental data trends For this role, we anticipate paying $110,000 - $150,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form. At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
