Maintenance Supervisor- Taylorsville, MS Plywood
Georgia-Pacific Building Products Group is seeking qualified professionals to consider for a Maintenance Supervisor role supporting plywood manufacturing operations at our mill in Taylorsville, MS. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the maintenance team to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective maintenance of plant equipment and facilities. This role involves coordinating maintenance activities, providing technical guidance, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The Maintenance Supervisor plays a key role in minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment reliability. What You Will Do In Your Role * Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture * Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance technicians and support staff * Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide feedback to team members * Assign and prioritize maintenance tasks, ensuring alignment with operational goals and production schedules * Develop, implement, and oversee preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life * Provide technical expertise and support for troubleshooting complex equipment issues and ensure timely resolution of maintenance problems * Promote a culture of safety and ensure all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies * Conduct safety training and ensure team members are knowledgeable about safety procedures and protocols * Ensure maintenance practices comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements * Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness * Lead and participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence * Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and materials to ensure availability for maintenance activities. Coordinate with procurement for timely ordering of supplies * Allocate resources effectively to meet maintenance needs and optimize workforce productivity * Collaborate with other departments, including operations, engineering, and procurement, to support overall plant performance and achieve operational goals * Prepare and present maintenance reports, metrics, and performance data to management. The Experience You Will Bring Basic Qualifications: * Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, equipment maintenance, reliability, and standard maintenance work processes * 3 years or more of supervisory experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment * Experience leading improvement efforts in Reliability and Predictive/Preventive Maintenance programs and tracking results * Experience planning and scheduling maintenance work orders * Previous experience with PLCs, drives, motors, and instrumentation * Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) * Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders * Willing and able to work overtime when required, holidays, and on-call time What Will Put You Ahead Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering * Experience working in a wood products manufacturing environment At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
