Ideal Candidate: Less than one year experience in general security, however 1 year security experience preferred. Must possess effective communication and written and documentation skills.
Qualifications
- Less than one year experience in general security, however 1 year security experience preferred.
- Must possess effective communication and written and documentation skills.
- Must be able to perform all requirements and training of a security technician.
- Must be able to demonstrate familiarization of hospital locations and operations within 6 months of hire date.
- All facilities require the ability to drive a company owned vehicle.
- Must have a current New Mexico drivers license, and must be insurable by Presbyterian Healthcare Services
Education Essential: High School Diploma or GED
Responsibilities
- Conducts routine and ad hoc patrols of hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized visitors.
- Conducts hazard surveillance for safety, security and infection control issues.
- Interacts and professionally manages issues with employees, physicians, visitors, contractors, and vendors and all who come in contact with PHS.
- Collaborates with local, state and federal agencies as required and approved by PHS.
- Respond to calls for key service, vehicle assist, and escorts in a timely manner.
- Controls parking and traffic flow, enforces parking policies and issues citations as required.
- Monitors conduct of visitors on hospital premises; confronts possible unauthorized persons for questioning as needed.
- This position will require heavy lifting of greater or equal to 50 pounds for more than 33% of their shifts in situations where self-defense is deemed necessary
- May be required to assist with lifting of patients, visitors and or staff.
- May be required to assist in lifting of deceased persons
- Assist medical staff in the restraint of violent, agitated and or hostile persons.
- Capable of long periods of standing and foot patrols.
- Perform other duties as assigned
