Requirements

This internship will run from May 26 - August 1, 2025

The application window is November 18, 2024 - January 24, 2025

Interviews will begin in mid-February

    Interest in pursuing a cybersecurity career post-graduation
  • Demonstrated academic achievement and must currently have and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Basic Understanding of Networking Concepts:
    • Knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, and basic networking principles (e.g., OSI/TCP-IP models, DNS, DHCP)
    • Familiarity with network devices like routers, switches, and firewalls
    • Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and encryption concepts (preferred)
    • Basic understanding of operating systems, including Linux and Windows
    • Ability to document technical procedures and communicate complex information clearly
    • Experience writing lab reports, technical guides, or project documentation in coursework or personal projects
  • Familiarization with Open Source Research Skills and Methods
  • Understanding of Cyber Analyst Roles and Responsibilities
  • Ability to Work Well in a Team Environment
  • Clear Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance


Description

  • Analyze a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access
  • Analysis may be performed at many levels of total system product, including: concept design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
  • Produce quality assurance and information assurance-related reports and documentation
  • Participate in risk assessment analyses of results, identify potential for exploitations and assign risk levels to systems
  • Install, configure, and manage virtual machines using VMware vSphere/vCenter. Establish a virtual network, configure services (web, active directory, DHCP, DNS) for the network through Linux and Windows servers and desktops
  • Establish security policies using firewalls (PFSense/OPNSense), and network segmentation (VyOS routers and VLANs) to enforce security zones
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable Red Team policies, Standing Ground Rules, regulations, and compliance documents
  • Sharing intelligence among teammates and Intel partners, understand delegation of duties and the ability to cross-train on Intel/Cyber
  • Prepare project documentation as a team, including diagrams, configuration settings, and security postures
  • Working as a team to complete deployment and configuration tasks according to approved documentation
  • Presenting documentation and completed network to stakeholders
