JOB OVERVIEW: Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in all kitchen areas, including the dish room, prep stations, and back dock. Support food preparation by assisting with basic prep tasks, managing waste disposal, and keeping the kitchen organized.

REPORTS TO: Executive Chef/Kitchen Supervisor

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dish room, kitchen aisles, prep areas, and back dock.
  • Clean and sanitize surfaces, counters, shelves, and kitchen equipment to meet health and safety standards.
  • Sort and store clean dishware, glassware, and silverware properly to prevent damage and ensure accessibility.
  • Assist with basic food prep (washing, chopping, and prepping vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients) per the chef's instructions.
  • Organize and maintain prep stations with all necessary tools and ingredients.
  • Maintain a clean and safe prep environment, following food safety guidelines.
  • Regularly empty trash bins and ensure proper waste disposal.
  • Clean and maintain kitchen breakdown tables, prep areas, and storage spaces.
  • Assist kitchen staff with tasks like replenishing stock, moving supplies, and setup/breakdown during meal service.
  • Ensure proper storage of kitchen tools and supplies to prevent clutter.
  • Report safety hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance needs to the Executive Chef.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as needed.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing and/or walking. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Safety & Security:

The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost importance to Crescent. Every Crescent associate should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
