The position implements the Carilion Clinic Nursing Strategic Plan and the Nursing fiscal year goals to standardize nursing practices across the organization while supporting the Carilion Clinic nursing professional practice model. The position promotes evidence-based practice that is characterized by collaborative professional governance. The position balances the patient and family-centric care using standards of nursing practice, while supporting the strategic plan for the technology needs of clinical staff.
- Disseminates and implements the Professional Nursing Practice Model while seamlessly integrates technology within nursing workflows.
- Develops, interprets, and implements standards of nursing practice, policies, and procedures that guide scope and conduct of patient care provided.
- Identifies practice and workflow opportunities and leads operational implementation of practice initiatives to improve nursing workflows, patient care, and staff satisfaction.
- Recognizes and communicates best practices for nursing excellence, transformational leadership, exemplary practice, structural empowerment, new knowledge, and innovations.
- Promotes ongoing integration of the Carilion Clinic nursing professional practice model, evidence-based clinical practices and guidelines by clinical nurses while supporting technology needs of clinical staff to create and sustain Carilion Clinic as a high reliable organization (HRO).
- Develops and maintains team engagement in complex change projects including motivating and inspiring teams.
- Designs, develops, and directs standardized reports and systems to facilitate nursing practice. Manages large data sets and presents in an effective way to leadership.
- Collaborates with all levels within the organization and is an engaging, effective, motivational communicator.
- Presents, responds appropriately to audiences, and facilitates meetings as needed.
What We Require:
Education: BSN required; Masters in nursing preferred
Experience: Minimum of 3 years clinical experience at a Magnet Designated facility Experience with Magnet designation processes a plus. Prior successful Magnet experience preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Current RN license in the state of Virginia required. Certification from specialty nursing organization preferred.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet computer software and data analysis, and PowerPoint. Ability to manage spreadsheets and large data sets. Exceptional written, editing, and oral communication skills. * Experience with meeting facilitation skills. Project management skills Ability to manage multiple tasks, competing priorities. Experience with meeting or exceeding goals for short and long-term projects within specified timeframes. Experienced change agent who has managed complex change projects and has motivated and inspired teams. Experience developing project engagement to build strong teams.
