The Department of Cell Biology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine seeks applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-stream) or Associate Professor (tenured). Ideal candidates will have a strong record of research accomplishments in the broad area of cell biology, with research programs that will add diversity to the department as well as synergize with existing strengths in the wider School of Medicine, including over 60 institutes and centers for specialized research. Examples include (but are not limited to) cancer biology, cardiovascular medicine, renal physiology, pulmonary medicine, regenerative medicine, and aging. Individuals with interests in protein and lipid trafficking, intracellular signaling, cytoskeleton, cellular organization, systems cell biology, and advanced imaging modalities will align well with existing strengths in the department and are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates should also convey a capacity to contribute to the teaching and service missions of the department and university. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree in the field of biological sciences. The necessary qualifications/ years of experience required for Assistant Professor level is a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, at least 3 years of post-doctoral training. The necessary qualifications/years of experience required for Associate Professor level is a PhD or equivalent degree, and at least 5 years as a tenure-track or tenured Assistant or Associate Professor in an academic institution.
