Job Description

Danfoss in Tallahassee, FL is searching for a Process Engineering Intern. The intern will assist the Operation in the in multiple projects to development of process flows, plant layouts, Statistical analyses, troubleshooting problems as well implement improvements to reach Operations Targets on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.



  • Assist in evaluating and determining best methods for material handling processes
  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine workflow processes, staff requirements, and production standards
  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting and computer applications.
  • Assist in providing technical and operational support as needed.
  • Study operations sequence, material flow, organization charts and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities
  • Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material and equipment
  • Draft and document standard operating procedures (SOP) and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) for operations tasks and functions
  • Conduct observations and time studies as required to implement engineered standards
  • Assists in project activities
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering. Juniors and above poreferred.
  • Proficient in 3D and 2D CAD, Mini Tab experience also preferred, quality tools (problem solve, PFMEA), line design
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills
  • Sit/walk or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Available to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week during business hours (8 am-5 pm Mon-Fri)
  • Candidates must be located within 50 miles of the work location.
