Job Description

The SDE will communicate, implement, and assure proper execution of the Supplier Quality Manual, Danfoss global standards, tools and templates for each supplier and/or project in their category. A successful SDE is highly motivated & able to work independently with minimal supervision, aids in preventing failures related to supplier manufacturing processes and material changes, prevents recurring supplier failures on components, prevents non-conforming components from entering the market, secures speed and effectiveness in implementation of supplier improvement plans, and secures supplier readiness to engage and execute new business & resourcing projects.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

* Lead supplier development projects to drive key suppliers to targeted quality performance levels

* Verify the supplier improvement plans are targeted to meet or exceed Danfoss expectations and that they are implemented to the agreed timelines

* Adapt training to target and influence people at all levels of the supplier to drive improvement in KPI's

* Train suppliers on tools and processes such as PMR, DFM, 8D, on-site PPAP, work cell audits, etc.

* Ensure supplier is fully trained and capable of meeting Danfoss expectations for claim handling from proper containment to final corrective action implementation

* Train supplier to achieve system level root cause and to implement long term corrective actions to eliminate reoccurrence of quality rejects as part of non-conformance process.

* Responsible for solving major or escalated operational issues with suppliers such as quality problems, including engaging the right people (internal and external)

* Ensure supplier quality and performance data is available and accurate at all times for suppliers in their category.

* Benchmark best in class practices and drive suppliers to that performance.

* Ensure supplier is fully trained and capable of meeting Danfoss change management expectations. This includes notifying Danfoss of changes and completing all aspects of the PPAP

* Ensure supplier is fully trained and capable of meeting Danfoss PPAP expectations.

* Train supplier on the expectations for on-site PPAP expectations

* Support the ASQE's on new supplier PPAP's and major project PPAP's or take the lead on such projects as expertise allows including on site run off's in support of implementation teams as required

* Support ASQE or perform ASQE duties to Facilitate and complete PMR and DFM process

Background & Skills

Required (basic) qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) and/or 5 years spent within quality engineering.
  • 3-5 years technical experience within a manufacturing environment.
