Commercial Product Manager - API Banking (Hybrid)

Overview

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

The Digital Channel Product team is responsible for developing and delivering a full range of Treasury, Cash Management, and Payment products designed to meet the full spectrum of First Citizens and SVB client needs. Specifically, this role is responsible for the delivery of API Banking functionality for commercial clients across market segments and growth stages.

The Product Manager (Product Owner) for API Banking will be a part of a team of strong product managers focused on managing the current portfolio of products, building new products, and commercializing and monetizing current and future technology assets of the bank. They will lead one or multiple cross-functional teams.


Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert on API Banking capabilities; be fully conversant in the market practices and trends, provide expertise to sales and customer facing groups.
  • Develop requirements, prioritize, manage roadmap, and communicate across the with stakeholders across Operations, Sales, Technology, Architecture, Design and other teams and partners.
  • Document user stories, groom product backlog through Agile routines, and work collaboratively with technology to support production releases to deliver enhancements across multiple API Banking products.
  • Research trends in API Banking to incorporate new capabilities to offer an efficient client and associate servicing experience.
  • Define product usage analytics to drive insights and strategic decision making.
  • Evolve agile product development process, routines, and ceremonies. Coach others about agile product development methodology.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of product management experience.

Or

High School Diploma and 6 years of product management experience.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Financial services and/or commercial banking experience
  • Industry experience with Online Banking, Cash Management, and/or Treasury Management products
  • Strong technical acumen, including past experience and familiarity with APIs
  • Postman and/or similar API tools
  • Agile product development and methodology experience
  • Product management and product ownership expertise and experience
  • Financial services experience
  • Digital product management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Jira/Confluence/Office suite experience
  • Experience writing user stories, epics, features
  • Experience developing business cases
  • Ability to develop roadmap and product vision
  • Ability to work independently
  • Data analysis experience
  • Technical skills to understand complex architectural decisions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master Business Administration degree.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in banking, payments, or financial services industries
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience leading product / software development teams

If hired in Illinois, the base pay for this position is generally between $115,260 and $155,940. If hired in California or New York, the base pay for this position is generally between $125,800 and $170,200. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
