Job Description
ECU Department of Student Life is currently seeking several Federal Work Study Central Reservations Office Student Assistant/Customer Service Specialists. The Customer Service Specialist is a part-time position with clerical responsibilities that work with and support the functions of the Student Centers within the Central Reservations Office. Customer service specialists are directly supervised by professional staff within the Department of Student Involvement and Leadership.

The Customer Service Specialists are expected to fulfill the following general roles and responsibilities:

* Administrator: complete all necessary paperwork, forms, maintain logs and tasks as required, attend scheduled shifts and know the staff manual protocols
* Customer Service: acknowledging and greeting students, staff, faculty and University guests, know campus resources and departmental functions to work with faculty, staff, students and guest of the University to connect each to resources as appropriate and assisting with navigating through campus and keep supervisor informed, help create a welcoming environment.
* Clerical Aid: to be able to file records, maintain records and logs, answer telephone calls and relay messages to the appropriate contact, be able to operate common office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, calculators, fax, etc.
* Security: provide for the safety of patrons during events, enforce facility policies and capacity, theft deterrent, knowledgeable of emergency evacuation and lock down procedures.
* Team Member: attend all training sessions, support staff team and help when needed, maintain positive communication with staff and all SL employees
* University Representative: serve as a positive role model, serve the needs of students, staff, faculty, and University guests, be mindful of social media tags/posts and represent SL and ECU positively.

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)
Applicants should be enrolled as a student and be in good academic standing with East Carolina University, as well as local, state, and federal laws. Additionally, candidates must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.5.

**To be eligible for FEDERAL WORK STUDY positions, students MUST BE QUALIFIED and RECEIVE a FEDERAL WORK STUDY AWARD from the ECU Financial Aid Office (Old Cafeteria Complex, 252-328-6610.) FEDERAL WORK STUDY STUDENTS MAY WORK UP TO A MAXIMUM OF 25 HOURS A WEEK DURING THE AUTHORIZED WORK PERIOD.
