The School of Arts and Sciences (
SAS) is the largest academic unit at Rutgers University and the center of the undergraduate experience on the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus and is comprised of 41 academic departments spanning the liberal arts.

Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Assistant for the Africana Studies department with the School of Arts and Sciences. This position is needed to conduct short-term project regarding U.S. legal landscape in relation to Gaza and Palestinian advocacy, more generally.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Identifies and compiles a list of all major politically-motivated 501(3) organizations in the United States coordinating, funding, and/or conducting offensive civil and human rights litigation.
- Researches novel legal theories advanced by such organizations, and their efficacy.
- Enumerates and maps out how oppositional organizations cause harm to activists.
- Assess scope of harm associated with those tactics.
- Assists in drafting of operational / policy documents.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function.
