David Evans and Associates (DEA) is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager/Team Lead for our Bellingham office. In this role, you will play a key part in managing and expanding DEA's Roads and Highways (RaH) group, within our Transportation Business Unit (TBU).

This is a unique opportunity to shape a growing team in our northern portion of the Puget Sound Region (PSR), manage and deliver transportation projects, supervise and mentor staff, review projects for quality assurance, and actively participate in Business Development activities. You will be instrumental in the continued success and growth of DEA's Transportation Business Unit (TBU) in the region.

Your responsibilities may include, but not be limited to the following:

* Project Management: Lead and manage transportation projects for local agencies, cities, counties, and the Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT).

* Project Delivery: Ensure excellence in project execution, delivering high-quality, on-time, and on-budget outcomes.

* Technical Proficiency: Possess working knowledge of MicroStation/InRoads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ability to contribute to design and plan development.

* Design Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to design teams, ensuring that engineering documents and deliverables meet contractual requirements and align with DEA's Quality Management standards, with the ability to stamp project plans.

* Business Development: Assist in maintaining effective business development and project delivery, serve as a pursuit champion as appropriate, and serve as a Client Team Lead as appropriate.

* Staff Development: Promote employee development, provide career growth opportunities, and ensure effective project delivery.

* Talent Management: Help attract, develop, and retain top talent. Assist the Roads and Highways Group Leader in setting performance expectations, rewarding high performers, and addressing areas for improvement.

* Firmwide Compliance: Adhere to company-wide tools, processes, and policies, including project accounting (set-up, budgeting, etc.), contracting, and quality assurance standards.

Team Leader responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Resource Management: Oversee short- and long-term team utilization, ensuring teams have the technical resources necessary to successfully deliver projects.

* Performance Management: Manage team performance, approving time off, timecards, expense reports, training, and other administrative functions.

* Recruitment and Retention: Support recruitment and retention efforts to hire top talent and implement processes that support staff longevity and professional growth.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.

* 10+ years of transportation design experience.

* 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager on local agency and DOT road/highway projects.

* Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Washington or ability to obtain within 6 months.

* Knowledge in drafting software applications such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.

* Valid driver's license with a clear motor vehicle report.

* Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
